v      FEWEST RUNS ALLOWED

v      HIGHEST RUN DIFFERENTIAL

o        The maximum run differential per game is +8 or –8

EXTRA HITTER / ROSTER BATTING

In all age divisions an extra hitter (EH) will be allowed.  This will give a team a 10-player line-up that must be declared before the start of the game and used the remainder of the game.  If a team is unable to continue a 10-player line-up for any reason, that slot will be an out. The 10 player lineup is treated just like a 9 player lineup.  The player in the EH position, while not actually playing a defensive position, will be treated as though they are for substitution purposes.  The re-entry rule applies for the EH.  There will be no DH allowed. Ages 12 and younger a team may roster bat at the coaches discreation  but this must be told at ground rules.  If a team is roster batting they forfeit the use of courtesy  runners. If a player becomes sick or injured their spot in the batting order is skipped, if a player leaves the lineup for any other reason this spot is an out. For teams not roster batting they may use a courtesy runner for the catcher, and it must be a player not in the lineup. Roster batting is any number over 10 batters and above rules apply. While roster batting you can use free substitution of defensive positions.
